Welcome to Rod & Gun Club

Historical Everglades City dates back over 1,000 years. The Rod and Gun Club is built on the original structure of the first permanent white settler who founded Everglades City in 1864. In 1922 Barron G. Collier, a banker and railroad man, bought almost all of Southwest Florida including the Rod and Gun Club which he operated as a private club. He hosted international dignitaries and several United States presidents here.

Stepping back in time

" Who doesn’t love a piece of history! It’s like eating in a museum! We had lunch at this little gem and Taylor knocked our socks off! I had a grilled seafood garden salad with blackened shrimp, scallops and grouper. My friends had the grouper reuben and grouper almondine. Everything came out perfectly seasoned and cooked! Worth the drive out here to check out this very cool place and enjoy a meal while overlooking the Barron river."

The hidden gem of Everglade City

" What a beautiful place. When you want to get away from the buzz and hustle, this is it! Priced very reasonable for the area. We paid $148 for a night, where a less fancy motel wanted $180. I'm glad we chose the Rod and Gun Club. You get a side of a quaint doublex that is clean and had all you needed. So yes, there is no wifi or complimentary coffee in the morning but the ambiance of the place makes up for it and the dinner was really good too."

Love this place!!

" We’ve been coming here for 30 yrs fishing. Love the cabins and the easy access for boats. Bring your catch of the day into the restaurant to be cooked of your choice. Cabins are clean and quiet. Can’t wait till next year! "
